An allsky camera (the Oculus from Starlight Xpress - called Vega) was just added to the observatory and it is nearly fully operational. Vega is equipped with a f/1.2 fisheye lens that can capture a 150 deg FOV image of the sky. Vega will be used to monitor sky conditions, with the purpose of providing visual feedback (on my website) of the night sky. It will also be used to capture timelapse videos of the night sky, and to record meteor showers. Also shown is a single 60 sec exposure taken at 5:30am close to sunrise. One of the spiral arms of our milky way galaxy can be readily seen - from north to south, showing brilliant southern milky way views.
